Freedom from Poverty
YOU are the change!
Thanks to you, in 2017 we provided support to over 15 people with leprosy, 50 orphans, 40 homeless people, and put 5 girls onto a vocational training course. We also provided Bibles in Urdu to Christians in Asia and audio Bibles to illiterate families in Asia.
Freedom from Poverty is a Christian charity and was established to show compassion and love to the world's poorest. We have been active as the 'Widows Support Fund' in Africa and India since 2008, and were registered by the Charity Commission in 2012 as Freedom from Poverty.
From micro-credit projects in Tamil Nadu, to Malaria prevention and treatment projects in West Africa, to tailoring and sewing projects for people with leprosy, to building water supplies for schools in East India, click here to learn all about our projects.
Freedom from Poverty relies on donations from the public, as well as fundraising activities, to be able to support the people we work with. 90% of what you donate goes directly to those who need it the most.
We also accept clothing, pens, pencils and other resources for our projects abroad, and clothes, books and vouchers for homeless people in Edinburgh.
We are currently not excepting volunteers for our local or overseas projects, but you can make a HUGE difference by fundraising for us, donating or sending resources to support the vulnerable people we work with.
